Who We Are & Why We Exist
We are a Christian ministry that is helping start home churches through providing support to potential and current home church leaders. You don’t have to spend years on a church staff and have college degrees in ministry (although they are welcome to help!) to be qualified. You can be a mechanic and start a home church…a teacher and start a home church…retired and start a home church.
The more we limit who is qualified in ways God never limited in the Bible, we create barriers to kingdom growth and hinder people from using their gifts and following their calling.

Our Story
When COVID hit in 2020 many of us brought church home. The difficult events of that year resulted in the birth of a home church we call “Backyard church” in Matt and Missy Dabbs’ backyard in Auburn, AL.
Matt and Missy had ministered in traditional churches for nearly 20 years. The Backyard church journey helped them realize just how deep the church community could go and how much hurt could be healed by a tight-knit and loving church family. As Backyard church grew, another home church was planted and there are more in development today locally in Auburn.
In 2024, the vision came together through much prayer, study and discussion to help others in other places start home churches. This vision has resulted in the start of home churches in other states and countries with more on the way!

Starting a home church that is healthy and lasts takes community. Don’t start a home church alone!
You can join a community where people interact, encourage and pray for each other as they live out the home church planting life together.
All of this is done through an online learning community where you can quickly and easily connect with all of the resources we have developed that are helping home church leaders around the world.

- Started working with people across the United States and abroad to partner with what God is doing in raising up disciples who make disciples who plant churches.
- Launched and led growing ministries in a variety of church contexts
- Personally discipling people for years
- Spent years learning best practices and creating discipleship content with leading disciple makers
- Created online courses on discipleship and ministry for multiple universities
- Created lessons used in homes that have been downloaded over 250,000 times.
